NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Notre Dame men’s basketball team will make nine national television appearances during the 2000-01 season as the Irish will be featured three times on CBS and six times on ESPN. It is the most regular-season telecasts since the 1988-89 campaign when that squad also had nine national broadcasts.

The nationally-televised slate begins on ESPN when the Irish play host to Indiana on Tues., Dec. 5 at 9:00 p.m. Notre Dame’s BIG EAST opener at Syracuse on Tues., Jan. 2 at 7:00 p.m. also is scheduled for ESPN. That broadcast is followed by another ESPN date six days later when Notre Dame travels to East Rutherford, N.J. to take on Seton Hall on Mon., Jan. 8 at 7:00 p.m.

Notre Dame makes its first CBS regular-season appearance on that network since the 1990-91 season when the Irish travel to Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., to meet Kentucky on Sat., Jan. 13 at 2:00 p.m.

Three appearances on ESPN and one on CBS highlight the month of February. Notre Dame’s second of three CBS appearances will be on Sun., Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. when the Irish entertain Seton Hall. A home game versus St. John’s on Mon., Feb. 5 at 7:00 p.m. is slated for ESPN, as our road games at Rutgers (Wed., Feb. 14 at 9:00 p.m.) and Connecticut (Mon., Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m.).

The regular-season finale will Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. against Georgetown at the Joyce Center and will be nationally televised by CBS.
