SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Senior center Phil Hickey scored a season-high 21 points as Notre Dame posted a 78-59 win Sunday over Boston College.
Freshman Troy Murphy recorded a double-double, with 17 points and 12 rebound for the Irish (14-15, 8-10 Big East) in their final regular-season game.
Boston College (6-20, 3-15) has now lost six in a row.
Hickey’s 21 points tied his career high against Boston College February 11, 1998.
The Eagles were led by sophomore guard Kenny Harley’s 21.
Boston College used a 10-0 run late in the first half to help build a 34-30 halftime lead.
Two free throws by Antoni Wyche with 13:40 to go in the second half sparked a 14-3 run that gave the Irish the lead for good.
