Men's Basketball Set For Three Big Monday Appearances During 2010-11 Campaign

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish men’s basketball team will be part of ESPN’s BIG Monday schedule three times during the upcoming 2010-11 campaign.

Notre Dame’s first appearance on Big Monday will be when the Irish travel to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Marquette at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Jan. 10 in a game that will be shown on ESPN2. Notre Dame’s matchup at Pittsburgh on Jan. 24 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) at the Petersen Events Center will be shown on ESPN. The ESPN Big Monday cameras will make their only appearance at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center on Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) when the Irish take on Villanova.

Traditionally, the Big Monday lineup begins with a BIG EAST game at 7:00 p.m. (ET), followed by a game from the Big 12 Conference on ESPN. However, on the first week, two BIG EAST games will be shown on Jan. 17, the Presidents Day holiday. Villanova will play at Connecticut at 3:30 p.m. (ET), followed by Syracuse and Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m. (ET). All Big Monday games will be simulcast on ESPN3.com.

In addition to a seven-week run of Big Monday games, the BIG EAST contest will be shown on the three previous Mondays, Dec. 27, Jan. 3 and Jan. 10 on ESPN2. All eight BIG EAST teams that participated in the 2010 NCAA Championship will appear at least once on a Monday on the network.

The complete list of Monday conference games on ESPN is as follows: Connecticut at Pittsburgh on Dec. 27 (8:30 p.m., ESPN2); Georgetown at St. John’s on Jan. 3 (7:00 p.m., ESPN2); Notre Dame at Marquette on Jan. 10 (7:00 p.m., ESPN2); Villanova at Connecticut on Jan. 17 (3:30 p.m., ESPN); Syracuse at Pittsburgh on Jan. 17 (7:30 p.m., ESPN); Notre Dame at Pittsburgh on Jan. 25 (7:00 p.m., ESPN); Louisville at Georgetown on Jan. 31 (7:00 p.m., ESPN); Pittsburgh at West Virginia on Feb. 7 (7:00 p.m., ESPN); Syracuse at Villanova on Feb. 14 on Feb. 14 (7:00 p.m. on ESPN); Syracuse at Villanova on Feb. 21 (7:00 p.m., ESPN) and Villanova at Notre Dame on Feb. 28 (7:00 p.m. on ESPN).

ESPN again will televise the 2011 BIG EAST Championship Presented by American Eagle at Madison Square Garden in New York, March 8-12.
