McKnight, Kane & Saulny Added to Irish Volleyball Roster

NOTRE DAME, IND. — Paige McKnightNancy Kane and Lexi Saulny have all been added to the Irish volleyball roster for the 2019 season, head coach Mike Johnson announced today (June 20).

“We are thrilled to add these three players to the roster,” said Johnson. “Each embraces what Notre Dame Volleyball stands for – we will pursue athletic and academic excellence to become the very best that we are capable of becoming.  I’m looking forward to getting in the gym with Paige, Nancy, and Lexi. If we can continue to progress and improve daily through a tremendous amount of work, discipline, and focus, this team will have a chance to be very special in the future.  I’m looking forward to what these three can bring to the table.”

Paige McKnight
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Position: Setter
Height: 5-9
Class: Graduate

McKnight played three seasons (2015-17) with Georgetown University, where she recorded 833 assists, 816 digs, 316 kills and 89 aces in 92 matches. Before joining the Hoyas, she played four years at Dunwoody High School and earned 2014 Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year and 2014 Georgia AAAAA Player of the Year honors. Paige was ranked No. 91 among’s Senior Aces in 2014.

Nancy Kane
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois.
Position: Setter
Height: 5-11
Class: Freshman

Kane comes to Notre Dame from Mother McAuley High School in Chicago, where she played alongside sophomore Charley Niego. Kane captained her squad in 2018 while also earning Most Valuable Player honors. A three-time Illinois All-State honoree, Kane totaled 2,287 assists throughout her high school career.

Lexi Saulny
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Position: Libero
Height: 5-3
Class: Sophomore

Saulny played high school volleyball at Westminster School in Atlanta, Georgia, where she earned All-State accolades in both 2016 and 2017. She also helped guide her squad to the 2016 state crown.
