NOTRE DAME, Ind. – For the second time this season, Luke Harangody (Schererville, Ind.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Harangody was selected for the honor after scoring 23 points and grabbing seven rebounds in Notre Dame’s 84-73 win over UCLA.

The senior tri-captain netted 20-plus points for the 55th time in his career. He leads the team in both scoring and rebounding this season and is averaging 24.5 points and 9.8 rebounds.

The only player in school history with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, he currently ranks fourth in both career scoring (2,117 points) and rebounding (1067). Harangody has played in 111 games and owns career averages of 19.1 points and 9.6 rebounds.

With 55 career double-doubles, he is one double-double shy of tying LaPhonso Ellis’ mark of 56 that he had from 1988-92.

Dominique James of USF was named the league’s player of the week, while Maalik Wayns of Villanova copped the conference rookie-of-the-week honor.

Harangody was joined on the Weekly Honor Roll by Stanley Robinson of Connecticut; Edgar Sosa of Louisville; Hamady Ndiaye of Rutgers; and D.J. Kennedy of St. John’s.
