Luke Harangody Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NOTRE DAME, ind. – For the third time this season, junior Luke Harangody (Schererville, Ind.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 27.0 points and 15.0 rebounds while shooting 52.4 percent from the field as the Irish posted a 1-1 week to begin conference play.

In Notre Dame’s 92-82 win at DePaul, Harangody scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as he was 10-28 from the field. In the 71-65 loss at St. John’s, he netted 28 points and hauled in 14 rebounds.

Harangody recorded his fifth 30-plus point outing of his career in Notre Dame’s win over Georgetown as he finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds. His is currently averaging 24.1 points and 12.4 rebounds overall and 28.3 points and 13.7 in league play.

Jerel McNeal of Marquette was selected as the league’s player of the week, while Greg Monroe from Georgetown earned rookie-of-the-week honors. Joining Harangody on the Honor Roll list were DaJuan Summers (Georgetown), DeJaun Blair (Pittsburgh), Sharaud Curry (Providence) and Paris Horne (St. John’s).
