LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Eric Lex secured his first ever league title by winning the 1-meter crown Friday evening at Wright Natatorium. Lex’s score of 355.70 put him well in front of second-place finisher Colin Forner (336.15) from Pittsburgh to open the 011 BIG EAST Conference Diving Championships.

Lex and the Irish will finish the diving portion of the league meet Saturday off the -meter board. Live video and results will be available at UND.com.

Notre Dame’s Wes Villaflor, who was named Most Outstanding Diver at the 2010 league meet, led the pack with 331.60 points after the prelims, just ahead of Lex (331.05). However, Villaflor finished fourth in the finals with a 328.20.

Ryan Koter (294.75) was sixth overall. Nathan Geary (318.55) was ninth in the consoles as Sean Rademaker (258.85) was 12th.
