Letter to all Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp Lettermen

March 1, 2007

I know your experience at the Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camp was a memorable one; a few days in your life that will stay with you forever. You learned more about Fighting Irish Football than you may have imagined possible, while developing some close friends who share your passion for the University of Notre Dame. It also likely gave you a reason to get into better physical condition.

The game you played in Notre Dame Stadium was no doubt the highlight of the Camp as you were able to play alongside some new buddies, proudly wearing the blue and gold colors of Notre Dame. The other team was comprised of men who had shared the same experience that week, merely serving as the opponent that Saturday.

Well now you have the opportunity to truly represent the Irish in Fantasy Bowl I, playing against Fantasy Camp lettermen from Penn State University! On Friday evening Sept. 7, the night before the huge clash between the two varsity teams in Beaver Stadium, we will stage the inaugural flag football game between Penn State and Notre Dame. Any man who has participated in the Penn State or Notre Dame Football Fantasy Camps through the summer of 2007 is eligible to represent his favorite school in the Fantasy Bowl. However, you must be among the first 30 players or 5 honorary coaches to register as rosters will be limited to this number! The amount of playing time is not guaranteed, but you will see action in the game.

The player/honorary coach fee of $1295 will provide you with the following: practice sessions Thursday evening and Friday morning on campus, Fantasy Bowl I apparel, game jersey bowl patch which you will wear on your own white Camp game jersey, post-bowl party with both teams and guests, Saturday tailgate party with both teams, ND vs PSU game ticket for Saturday’s big game, and the right to represent Notre Dame on the field in the Fantasy Bowl I. The game will be 48 minutes long, but follow NCAA timing rules and played under the summer Fantasy Camp rules. The actual game field will be “Old Desso”, just west of Bryce Jordan Center, which is getting new artificial turf this spring. We are also working to put together a stellar cast of former Fighting Irish players who will serve as your coaches for the game.

If you need accommodations for the 3-night weekend we have arranged to have top-quality RV’s with kitchen, full bath, individual bed, generator, awning, TV/VCR/DVD and fuel brought onto campus where we will create a true “Fantasy Camp”. The total for this addition is $700 per person, based upon 5 persons per RV.

To sign up to play for Notre Dame in the Fantasy Bowl I simply email Yvonne or Becky at yvonnenoell@anthonytravel.com or beckyduke@anthonytravel.com, indicating your intent to play, whether or not you are interested in reserving accommodations, and what form of payment you will be using, then you will be on the team! This event has been long-awaited by all who have attended the Fantasy Camps on either campus, and we are thrilled to be working with both Notre Dame and Penn State, two of the most storied programs in college football, to make this possible. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to each school for their specific needs.

Sincerely,
Patrick Steenberge
