Leigh Wojtkiewicz Joins Notre Dame As Associate Athletic Director, Data, Analytics & Strategic Initiatives

Leigh Wojtkiewicz, business analytics and data lead for the Pac-12 and co-founder of Sports Data, Analytics & Technology Association, has been named Associate Athletic Director for Data, Analytics and Strategic Initiatives at the University of Notre Dame.

“We are committed to instilling a broad based data and analytic culture which will allow us to more effectively support our student athletes, engage with our constituents and secure our financial future,” Executive Deputy Athletics Director Mario Morris said. “Leigh’s addition will allow us to make key strategic decisions based on past, present and future analytical information and push our innovation decisions in exciting directions.”

Wojtkiewicz joins the Notre Dame executive team in a new position responsible for the strategic use of data & analytics across all aspects of the athletic department. The newly established center for analytics excellence will focus on four main areas: revenue generation, student-athlete performance, business analytics, and team performance.

“I am thrilled to join Notre Dame Athletics and the greater University of Notre Dame family. Notre Dame is a powerhouse athletic program at one of the most revered higher education institutions,” Wojtkiewicz said. “I am grateful to Mario for entrusting me with the task of building a new analytics and strategy department for one of the nation’s elite athletic programs.”

Wojtkiewicz arrives at Notre Dame after holding a variety of data & analytics roles across college athletics and supporting partners for the past 15 years. From 2006-2011, Wojtkiewicz served as a business & ticket office assistant and athletic department intern at Northeastern University. Her responsibilities included ticket operations and administrative support for the business, compliance, and development offices.

Following Northeastern, Wojtkiewicz served as a ticket sales analyst and CRM manager for Cal Athletics (University of California, Berkeley) from 2011-2015. Wojtkiewicz managed all ticket revenue deposits, sales reporting, financial reconciliation, and Salesforce administration. While at Cal, Wojtkiewicz was project manager for the implementation of Paciolan’s Ticketing Intelligence tool and SSB’s custom reporting, MDM, and Salesforce integration from the data warehouse.

From 2015-2017 Wojtkiewicz served as analytics product manager and senior business intelligence analyst at Paciolan. As product manager, Wojtkiewicz supported the day-to-day operations of Paciolan’s Pac Analytics database, developed product roadmaps, and supported platform teams in the development of Pac Platform. Wojtkiewicz served on an agile team that was responsible for several major releases and updates to Pac Analytics. As senior business intelligence analyst, Wojtkiewicz supported client requests for standard and ad hoc reporting requests. Wojtkiewicz helped develop the first advanced analytics solutions for Paciolan clients.

Most recently, Wojtkiewicz served as business analytics & data lead for the Pac-12. In a one-of-a-kind service model, the Pac-12’s analytics team supports all twelve members in data & analytics management and strategic initiatives. Modeled after the NBA’s TMBO, the Pac-12 analytics team acts as centralized analysts and consultants while providing engineering and technical support through a data warehouse and business intelligence tool. Wojtkiewicz led weekly meetings with schools to develop dashboards and leverage analytics best practices from across the Conference. Wojtkiewicz managed datasets and dashboards across most areas of athletic departments including ticket sales, fundraising, email marketing, social media, web analytics, merchandise, concessions, academics, and student-athlete development. Other cross-department dashboards include NCAA and EADA analysis, strategic plan monitoring and DEI analysis.

Wojtkiewicz is co-founder and president of Sports Data, Analytics & Technology Association. Originally focused on college athletics analytics professionals, Sports D.A.T.A. promotes data literacy, analytics adoption, and analytics proficiency in sports business. Sports D.A.T.A. currently has over 100 members from college athletics, professional sports, and industry partners.

A native of Norwich, Connecticut, Wojtkiewicz received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Northeastern University in Boston.
