Lebedev Named To Bobby Bayliss Invitational All-Tournament Team

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team wrapped up weekend play Sunday with a respectable final day at the Bobby Bayliss Invitational on its own Courtney Tennis Center courts.

Sophomore Alex Lebedev was named to the All-Tournament Team after going 3-1 in singles on the weekend.

The Irish were 4-4 in singles and 2-1 in doubles Sunday to close a busy weekend. Lebedev, junior Drew Dawson, sophomore Nathan Griffin and freshman Johnathan Small all picked up singles wins Sunday.

The Irish will be back in action October 20-24 at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.

Joanne Norell, athletics communications assistant director at the University of Notre Dame, has been part of the Fighting Irish athletics communications team since 2014 and coordinates communications efforts for the Notre Dame women’s soccer, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and fencing programs. Norell is a 2011 graduate of Purdue University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, and earned her master’s degree in sports industry management from Georgetown University in 2013.
