NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team remains on quite the tear this summer with rising senior Davis Lamb winning the 98th Maryland Open at the Worthington Manor Golf Course. It marks the sixth tournament victory among the current Irish returners this summer and the fourth different golfer.
Hunter Ostrom kicked off the winning summer with medalist honors at the Southwestern Amateur, a U.S. Amateur Qualifier and the Eastern Amateur. In addition, Davis Chatfield qualified for the U.S. Amateur for the second consecutive year, while Andrew O’Leary emerged victorious at the Rhode Island Amateur.
Furthermore, even incoming freshman Palmer Jackson has gotten in on the action winning events like the AJGA Ohio State and a U.S. Junior Qualifier.
Next, Lamb joined the winner’s circle on July 17 in Urbana, Maryland – just over a half hour from his hometown of Potomac. Lamb fired off rounds of 72-70-70 to finish one-under par and win the tournament by one stroke.
