Kohlhepp Named to Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named their midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year Award and the Irish had a representative named to the list. Sophomore righty Tanner Kohlhepp was named to the list after being the do-it-all reliever for the Irish out of the bullpen this season.

Kohlhepp has pitched 36 innings this season, which is second most on the team, and he leads the Irish with a team-high 15 appearances through 29 games. He is tied for the team lead with five wins and is tied for second with two saves. The Eau Claire, Wisc. native is tied for the team lead with 37 strikeouts and has limited opponents to a .171 batting average.

Kohlhepp and the Irish hit the field this weekend as they kick off a series against North Carolina Friday night at Frank Eck Stadium. The series opener is set for a 5 p.m. ET first pitch and the entire series will be aired on ACC Network Extra.
