Kloss Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its first Player of the Week award for the 2023 season Tuesday morning. The University of Notre Dame catcher Carlli Kloss earned her first weekly award for her performance over opening weekend as she was named the ACC’s Player of the Week. This is the first weekly ACC award for the junior from Cypress, California.

The junior hit for a .500 average on opening weekend, connecting for at least one hit in all five games, and three times had a multi-hit effort. She led the team with six runs scored, five RBI, two doubles and was one of three to hit a home run on opening weekend. She was 6-for-7 on the weekend when leading off an inning and added three two-out hits and drove in three runs with two outs.

Kloss and the Fighting Irish are back in action this weekend as they head to Clemson, South Carolina for the B1G/ACC Challenge. The Irish will take on Ohio State Friday, the Buckeyes and Northwestern Saturday and close the weekend with a matchup with the 13th-ranked Wildcats Sunday morning.
