NOTRE DAME, Ind. – A total of five University of Notre Dame student-athletes are set to compete at the 2016 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which begin on June 8 in Eugene, Oregon. Kaila Barber (100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x400m relay), Margaret Bamgbose (400m, 4x400m relay), Carly Loeffel (heptathlon), Parker English (4x400m relay) and Jordan Shead (4x400m relay) will represent the Irish at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

The Notre Dame women’s track & field program returns to Eugene for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after establishing a program-best with a tie for 13th place at the 2015 national meet. The Irish have now qualified five or more participants in each of the last five NCAA outdoor meets dating back to 2012.

Bamgbose is a returning five-time outdoor All-American at the NCAA Championships over the past three seasons, placing in the top 12 of the 400m (sixth place) and the 4x400m relay (12th place) at the 2015 national meet alone. Loeffel took home All-America honors in the heptathlon (15th place) in 2013, while Shead joined Bamgbose as a member of the 12th place 4×400 relay squad for her first career All-America scroll in 2015.
