Katie Conway Named Women's Golf Captain For 2010-2011 Season

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team announced that senior Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading) has been selected to serve as the 2010-11 team captain.

While at Notre Dame Conway has had a career best finish of 9th place (tie) at the Wolverine Invitational in 2007, recording a 228 in three rounds.

Entering her senior season, she has played in a total of 30 events. Conway has played in 86 rounds and has been a top-five starter 63 times overall. During her best round she carded a 70 at the Lady Northern Invitational during the 2008-2009 season, putting her two under par. At the start of the 2010-2011 season began, Conway recorded an average of 77.73 strokes.

The Wading River native posted the third best stroke average on the team during the 2009-2010 campaign. She tied for 25th at the BIG EAST Championship, where she carded a total of 246 in three rounds (87-82-77), and capped off her junior campaign with a 241 at the NCAA Central Regional and tied for 65th, carding 82-79-80. She also earned her first All BIG EAST honor of her career, as well as a monogram from the University of Notre Dame.
