NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Nicole Jones and Matthew McCormack have been named sports promotions coordinators at the University of Notre Dame.

Jones has been at Notre Dame since June 2003, serving a two-year stint as sports marketing and promotions assistant. Her duties in that role included development and implementation of marketing strategies for the 26 Irish varsity sports, preparation and maintenance of an on-campus advertising budget and the development of corporate and community sponsorship programs.

Prior to her arrival at Notre Dame, the Seal Beach, Calif., native worked at Utah State University as sports marketing and promotions intern from August 1999 to May 2003. During her time in Logan, she coordinated the 1999-00 men’s basketball Midnight Madness and managed the 500-member Jr. Aggie organization for from 2001-03. Since 1997, Jones has also served as a float coordinator for the Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.

Jones earned a bachelor of arts, liberal arts and science from Utah State in ’03, completing course work in marketing, accounting, computers and Spanish.

McCormack comes to Notre Dame from Bradley University, where he had served as assistant director of external athletic affairs since June ’03. In that position, his responsibilities included development and implementation of marketing plans and special events and the organization of an all-sport student support group.

Previously, he served year-long stints as a marketing assistant and a marketing intern at Louisiana State University (July 2002-June ’03) and California State University at Fresno (Sept. ’01-July ’02), respectively. He also served as an athletic marketing and baseball intern at the University of Minnesota from January to June of ’01.

McCormack received a bachelor of science degree, with an emphasis on kinesiology and exercise management, from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire in ’01.
