Notre Dame, Ind. – John Palmer, a 2005 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, has been named assistant football equipment manager. While a student at the University, Palmer served as head student football manager for equipment from January of 2004 through April of 2005.

Palmer has spent the past year working with Mainstay Investments,LLC in New York, NY as a sales consultant. During his tenure there, he has helped to provide product analysis and market analysis to financial advisors.

Prior his position at Mainstay Investments, Palmer worked with derivative traders on the floor of the New York Board of Trade as a trading assistant from August 2006 until May of 2007. In his time there, he was responsible for assisting option traders and futures brokers with monitoring trade positions in the Sugar and Cotton markets.

During the summer of ’06, Palmer worked as an equipment intern with the New York Jets. Before working with the Jets, Palmer served as the equipment intern for the Detroit Lions from July ’05 until February ’06.

Palmer received his bachelor’s degree in business finance from the Mendoza College of Business with a double major in history.
