KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team wrapped up play Sunday at the Western Michigan University Super Challenge at West Hills Athletic Club.
Mary Closs defeated Indiana’s Alecia Kauss, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (2) in the singles round robin, while Allison Miller bested Marquette’s Aleeza Kanner, 6-0, 6-1. Julie Vrabel fell to Hoosier Katie Klyczek, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (6). Jane Fennelly also dropped her match to Kim Schmider (Indiana), 6-7 (9-7), 6-3, 1-0 (7). Darby Mountford, Katherine White and Alaina Roberts also fell in added matches.
The WMU Super Challenge concludes the fall season for the Irish, who will return to action in the spring with a dual match against Western Michigan at noon ET, January 17, at Eck Tennis Pavilion.
