BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s tennis team opens its fall schedule this weekend at the adidas Hoosier Classic at the Indiana University Tennis Center.
Last season, the Fighting Irish won 15 singles matches at the event, led by three wins each from then-junior Chrissie McGaffigan (Davenport, Iowa), sophomores Britney Sanders (Ontario, Calif.) and Jennifer Kellner (Smithtown, N.Y.), and freshman Katherine White (Columbus, Ga.).
Play begins Friday at 11 a.m. (ET) with the first round of the event’s singles draw. The second wave of opening round singles matchups will get underway at 12:45 p.m.
The first two rounds of doubles play will also be contested on Friday. Round one is tentatively scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with matches spread over eight courts. Round two is immediately set to follow at 4:30.
The event continues Saturday with third-round doubles at 10:30 a.m. Second round singles matches are scheduled for an 11:45 start time. Per tournament rules, the first players to finish the morning doubles session will in turn be the first on the court for the second singles round. The fourth and final doubles round will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Third and final round singles action resumes Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The last seven singles matches of the event will begin at noon.
