Irish Women To Send Two Divers To NCAA Zone C Meet

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team will send two freshman divers, Natalie Stitt (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) and Tiffany Robak (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) to the NCAA Zone C meet in Ann Arbor, Mich. The girls will compete at the Canham Natatorium’s Dick Kimball Diving Pool this weekend, March 2-4, in the three-day zone meet to earn a spot on the NCAA Championship Team.

Competition begins Friday, March 2 at 12 p.m. (ET) with the preliminaries of the women’s three-meter springboard. Finals will start at approximately 1:45 p.m. (ET) that evening. On Saturday, the women compete in the preliminaries of one-meter springboard at 12 p.m. (ET) with finals to follow again at 1:45 p.m. (ET). The meet concludes on Sunday with the preliminaries of the platform competition at 12 p.m. (ET) and finals at 1 p.m. (ET)

There are four additional zone diving competitions this weekend from which the top-35 men and 41 women nationally will advance to the NCAA Championships being held from March 8-10 in Minneapolis, Minn.. The Zone C competition encompasses approximately 84 divers and 17 schools in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Divers will qualify for the NCAA Championships based on their finish at the zone meet. It is a head-to-head competition from which the top-nine women across the three combined events from Zone C will advance.
