Seniors Kimberly Guy and Sarah Scaringe and freshman Katie Cunha each won a pair of singles matches to advance to the final round of qualifying for the singles main draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Region Singles and Doubles Championships at Ohio State. Guy beat Indiana?s Jennifer Hsia 6-2, 6-3 in the first round and Purdue?s Melissa Woods 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. She will meet Ohio State?s Sadhaf Pervez on Thursday for a spot in the main draw.

Scaringe won 6-1, 6-1 over UIC?s Kim Harris and then defeated Purdue?s Lisa Walgenbach. Cunha rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win against Marquette?s Alex Stankovic before beating Southern Illinois? Erika Ochoa. The doubles team of Cunha and Guy and Green and senior Kelly Zalinski received byes into the second round of doubles qualifying and will play twice on Thursday.

Irish junior All-American Michelle Dasso is seeded first in the 64-player singles main draw, while sophomore Becky Varnum is the fourth seed. Zalinski is a Nos. 5-8 seed. Sophomore Lindsey Green and Nina Vaughan also qualified directly into the main draw. They will play their first singles matches on Friday. Dasso and Varnum are seeded No. 5-8 in doubles and also will open Friday.
