AUSTIN, Texas – The women’s golf team moved into seventh after the second round of play at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational after shooting a plus-20 on day two. Sophomore So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep) carded a 76 for Notre Dame’s low round of the day.
Park’s second round included birdies on the fifth and 11th and she also added 11 pars. Park is tied for 23rd with a two-day total of 149 (plus five).
Freshman Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton HS) shot a plus-five 77 on the day, putting her at six over for the tournament. She notched a birdie on the 11th and also recorded 11 pars. After two days of play she is tied for 29th.
Senior captain Lisa Maunu (St. Thomas, Ontario/Parkside Collegiate Institute) and junior Annie Brophy (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) also scored for the Irish. Maunu matched Huffer’s plus-five 77, while Brophy shot a plus-six 78. Maunu’s second round included 11 pars and birdies on the fifth and 14th. Trough two rounds she is minus-two at the fifth hole and is tied for 34th place with a plus-eight 152 total. Brophy’s second round included 12 pars. She has a plus-nine 153 mark for the tournament, putting her in a tie for 40th.
Notre Dame’s final entrant, Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River), shot a plus-eight 80 in the second round. The sophomore had 12 pars and carries a two round total of 161.
