Irish Turn In Impressive Day Two At Tom Fallon

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s team won 12 of 13 singles matches and five of eight doubles matches on day two of the Tom Fallon Invitational at the Eck Tennis Center.

Wyatt McCoy, Ryan Bandy, Spencer Talmadge, Michael Moore, Blas Moros, Billy Pecor, Alex Lawson, Michael Fredericka and Nicolas Montoya picked up singles wins on Saturday, with McCoy and Bandy claiming two wins.

In doubles Greg Andrews and Talmadge claimed a hard-fought victory over Botha and O’Shaughnessey of Alabama, 9-7, while Pecor and Lawson also won a tough match over Michigan’s Franks and Buzzi, 8-6. Elsewhere in doubles Fredericka and Barnard cruised to an 8-3 win, while McCoy and Monaghan also rolled to an 8-1 victory. Andrews and Talmadge also knocked off Franks and Buzzi, 8-4.

The final day of the Tom Fallon Invitational gets underway at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
