TOWSON, Md. — The No. 10 University of Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team will brave the elements and play against No. 15 Towson outdoors at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
Notre Dame (8-2), which is 2-2 against teams ranked in the top 20, will take on the Tigers (4-3) for the first time in program history on what is expected to be a very chilly day along the coast.

Spring Break 2017
The 2017 women’s lacrosse team features a total of eight players from the state of Maryland.
Despite experiencing arguably the heaviest snowfall of the season on the east coast, the Irish have had quite the itinerary. Unphased by the wet snow and chilly temperatures, the Irish have made time for practice, recovery and time with family.
Senior Grace Muller’s parents hosted the team for dinner on Sunday, and senior Hannah Rees’ parents opened their doors to the team on Monday evening. The team enjoyed a restorative yoga session, taught by Hannah’s mother Cathy Rees, at the family’s household.
On Wednesday, the Irish will play in front of some of their biggest fans — family, friends and high school coaches.
Second-Half Story
After outscoring opponents 65-24 in the second half of the first eight games, Notre Dame has been outscored 15-9 in the second half in its last two games.
Over the past five games, the Irish have won 51 draw controls in the second half, compared to 44 in the first half. The team has collected 35 second-half saves, compared to 30 in the first half.
Conference Update
The Irish — which own a 2-0 conference record — currently sit in fourth place in the Atlantic Coast Conference, rounding out the top half of the standings. Notre Dame stands behind Syracuse (6-1, 2-0), Virginia Tech (9-2, 2-0) and North Carolina (6-1, 1-0).
Senior Cortney Fortunato ranks second in the ACC in goals per game (3.30), while sophomore Nikki Ortega is fifth in the conference in assists per game (1.60).
