NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Notre Dame women’s golfers Emma Albrecht, Isabella DiLisio and Abby Heck have been named 2018 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars the association announced on Tuesday (July 3).

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as the minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Albrecht and DiLisio, who are both rising seniors, have now earned the honor in each of their three seasons with the Irish, while rising sophomore Heck earned the honor for the first time.

For Albrecht and Heck, it also follows on the heels of being named ACC All-Academic selections (June 21).

Albrecht, a Science-Business major, participated in all 10 tournaments for the Irish in 2017-18, posting a season stroke average of 72.31, setting the program record for lowest season stroke average. A co-medalist at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational (Oct. 6-7), she was the first Notre Dame individual to win a tournament since Kristina Nhim in 2014. At the NCAA Madison Regional, she fired a final round 67 to eclipse the program’s record for best individual NCAA round by four strokes. She went on to finish tied for 11th (73-75-67=215) with the 215 accounting for Notre Dame’s lowest 54 hole total in NCAA play. In addition, her tie for 11th marked the second best NCAA finish by an Irish golfer. She has earned three career All-ACC Academic Team honors to go along with her three WGCA All-American Scholar honors.

DiLisio, a Business Analytics major, finished the 2017-18 season with a 75.82 stroke average. In the first contest of the season, she tied for 10th at the Minnesota Invitational (Sept. 11-12) after shooting rounds of 69-75-67=211 (-5). She also had a strong showing at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational (Oct. 6-8) where she tied for 20th, shooting 72-80-71=223 (+7).

Heck, who also earned Dean’s List honors as a freshman, is majoring in Mathematics with a Supplementary Spanish major and Life Sciences concentration. Starting in the top-five in all 10 tournaments, she finished her rookie campaign with a 74.75 stroke average, the third-lowest average on the team. She shot a final round 69 at the NCAA Madison Regional, which marks Notre Dame’s second best individual NCAA round. She tied for 23rd at the regional and her 217 total (75-73-69=217) is Notre Dame’s second-lowest 54 hole total in NCAA play.
