NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Riding a four-match winning streak, the No. 26 Notre Dame men’s tennis team travels to Bloomington, Ind., for a 2 p.m. Wednesday date with No. 29 Indiana at the IU Tennis Center.

The Irish are looking to gain a measure of revenge after falling 6-1 to the Hoosiers in Columbus, Ohio at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in late January. In a match that was closer than the score indicated, sophomore Greg Andrews picked up the lone Irish victory at No. 2 singles, while one match went to three sets, two others went to third set super sets and a fourth ended with a close final score of 6-4, 7-5.

Notre Dame is coming off a pair of home wins against then No. 56 Michigan State (7-0) and BIG EAST rival Marquette (6-1), which ran its winning streak to four matches.

Having impressive weekends were Andrews and senior Sam Keeton, who each won a pair of singles and doubles matches and senior Casey Watt, who won two singles matches and a doubles contest.

No. 45 Andrews won his first match of the year at No. 1 singles and his 13th at No. 2 singles to up his gaudy overall singles record to 14-1. He has also teamed with junior Spencer Talmadge to put together a talented doubles duo that is 8-1 on the year.

Keeton is 9-4 on the year playing primarily at No. 3 singles and has also teamed with sophomore Billy Pecor to put together an 8-3 mark at No. 3 doubles.

Watt has held steady at No. 1 singles, putting together a respectable 8-6 mark (9-6 overall), while teaming with fellow senior Niall Fitzgerald to go 4-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Also performing well playing at a multitude of positions is junior Blas Moros, who is 12-3 this year with victories at three, four, five and six singles.

The Hoosiers (6-3) are a perfect 5-0 at home. IU is led by No. 1 singles player Isade Juneau (5-3) and No. 2 singles player Josh MacTaggart (6-2). They haven’t played since Feb. 12, when the Hoosiers lost at Oklahoma, 6-1.
