Irish Track and Field Set for Border Battle Kentuckiana

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish track and field squads hit the road this weekend for Border Battle Kentuckiana held at the Cardinal Park Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Louisville.

In Notre Dame’s first scored meet of the outdoor season, the Irish will team up with Indiana University to take on Louisville and the University of Kentucky.

Action gets underway Saturday with the men’s javelin at 10:30 a.m. (ET), while the running events begin with the women’s 5000 meters at 2:00 p.m.

The Irish are coming off a successful showing at Purdue’s Mike Poehlein Invitational last weekend. Notre Dame earned 23 top-five finishes and four first-place performances. Eric Quick won the men’s triple jump, Theresa Cattuna earned the top spot in the women’s 5000 meters, Joanna Schultz finished first in the women’s 400 meters and Johnathan Shawel claimed the top prize in the men’s 800 meters.
