Irish Track and Field Prepare for Mike Poehlein Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish track and field squads will look to set more NCAA regional qualifying marks this weekend as they compete at the Mike Poehlein Invitational hosted by Purdue.

Events begin Friday with the hammer throw at 3:00 p.m. The discus throw starts things off on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the running events at 11:00 a.m.

Eleven teams will join Notre Dame and Purdue at this year’s meet, including Louisville, Ball State, DePaul, Illinois-Chicago, Bethel College, Marian College, Rose-Hulman, Spring Arbor, St. Joseph’s, Grand Valley State and Hillsdale.

The Irish opened the outdoor season March 27-28 at the Stanford Invitational and the Arizona State Invitational with multiple student-athletes setting regional qualifying marks.
