Irish Track & Field Continues Season At Indiana Relays

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s track and field is set to compete at the competitive Indiana Relays Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday Jan. 29 at the at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Ind.

The meet features more than 20 teams and 1,200 entries. The event gets underway at 3:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, beginning with the men’s weight throw and the women’s 60-meter hurdles. The meet continues on Saturday, commencing at 9:30 a.m. (ET).

The Irish hit the road for their fourth indoor meet of the season. The Irish have had a bountiful season thus far with two student-athletes ranked in the top 25 in their respective events. Sophomore Rebecca Tracy (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) is currently ranked seventh in the nation in the 800 after clocking a 2:09.05 at the Bob Eubanks Open on January 13. Additionally, Tracy clocked the second-best mile time in the country at the Notre Dame Invitational on January 22 in 4:42.14. Her time sits just one second behind Sheila Reid of Villanova who ran the mile in 1:41.14.

Tracy isn’t the only Irish track and field member on the National Top-10 list. Senior Justin Schneider (Atlanta, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian) remains the No. 1 ranked multi-events performer in the country. Schneider finished with 5,497 points at the Bob Eubanks Open on January 13.
