Notre Dame looks to improve to 7-0 all-time against Michigan State.

Oct. 28, 2010

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team will travel to Michigan State Friday for a dual meet against the Spartans slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. (ET). The two teams will go head-to-head at McCaffree Pool in East Lansing, Mich.

Notre Dame (0-2) is coming off a pair of losses suffered last week during a double-dual meet with Auburn and LSU. Samantha Maxwell (100 breast) and Katie Casey (200 fly) each recorded individual wins at Auburn.

The Irish are a perfect 6-0 all-time against the Spartans and 35-30-1 versus Big Ten programs.

Notre Dame and Michigan State last met in 2009 at the Shamrock Invitational. The Irish handed the Spartans a 259.5-106.5 defeat while also picking up wins over Denver and West Virginia to wrap up the four-team event. The win improved Notre Dame’s record to 6-2, as the team was ranked 24th nationally at the time.
