Irish To Present Prime Time Hitting Clinic

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame softball program is set to offer a special one night hitting clinic this November. Irish softball will guide clinic participants through a specialized session entitled `Hit Like The Irish Tonight on the Notre Dame campus from 7-9:30 p.m. (ET) on Nov. 15.

The two-and-a-half-hour offensive instructional session will provide clinic participants with lecture and video analysis, along with drill work tailored to improve swing mechanics. Weather permitting, the clinic session will take place at either Melissa Cook Stadium or inside the indoor batting cages at the Eck Baseball Stadium.

Designed for the softball athlete looking to elevate her game to the next level, this Irish softball offensive skills clinic is open to all players in grades 6-12. A payment of $120 per player is due at the door on Nov. 15, and the Tuesday night clinic session will be capped after the first 40 participants have registered.

One of the top offensive programs in NCAA Division I softball, Notre Dame placed fourth in the final national statistics standings with a .347 team batting average in 2016, the third straight season over the .345 average plateau for the Irish. Notre Dame previously led the NCAA with a .357 batting average in 2014, and was sixth nationally with a .351 team clip in 2015. The 2016 Irish offense added a team record 346 RBI to help Notre Dame reach its 18th straight NCAA Championship regional tournament.
