Irish To Face Miami At Home Tomorrow

April 10, 2014

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame opens up its weekend with a match against No. 46 Miami. The Irish will play the Hurricanes at 3:30 p.m. at the Courtney Tennis Center alongside the women’s team, which will face off against Virginia Tech at the same time.

“We’re really looking forward to the match tomorrow,” says head coach Ryan Sachire. “Miami is a very, very talented team. They’re close to as talented of a group as we will have played all year. We know that going into it and we have a lot of respect for them. We’re excited to open up our last weekend at home against a traditional rival of Notre Dame.”

Miami is currently 13-8 on the season and is coming off a tough 0-4 streak, having played top ACC teams, Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Duke. The Hurricanes are currently up 9-8 in the all-time series against the Irish.

The match is the first of three home matches that Notre Dame will play this weekend. On Sunday, the team’s senior day, the Irish will face Florida State and Valparaiso.
