NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Following their outstanding performances at last week’s Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, graduate student Anna Rohrer and junior Yared Nuguse have swept Atlantic Coast Conference Performer of the Week honors, the league announced Wednesday.
In the final home meet of her Irish career, Mishawaka, Indiana, native Rohrer led the Irish with a sixth-place finish as the Irish came in eighth place as a team. Rohrer was the highest ACC finisher at the meet, outpacing NC State’s Elly Henes (ninth place) by nearly five seconds.
In his season debut, Nuguse led the Irish to a fifth-place showing, placing sixth individually for his best career finish at the event. With a time of 23:28.10, Nuguse recorded a 43-second PR for a five-mile cross country course.
The Irish will return to the course next Friday, October 18, when they compete at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.
