Jan. 8, 2010

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Hours after arriving back to campus from its winter training trip in Puerto Rico, the Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving team will face Northwestern for a dual meet Saturday (Jan. 9) at 1:30 p.m. (ET). Live stats from the Rolfs Aquatic Center will be available at UND.com.

In their last competitive action, Notre Dame finished fourth at the Ohio State Invite (Dec. 4-6). The 4-1 Irish are receiving votes in the most recent College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll.

John Lytle swept the 50 and 100 free events during a 2008 dual meet against Northwestern and replicated the feat against the Wildcats in the 2009 edition of the matchup. Despite the efforts, Notre Dame fell to Northwestern by a 175-125 margin.

The Wildcats also own a 17-7 advantage in the series between the two teams.

Notre Dame has two provisional cut times this season, with NCAA B-cuts turned in by Petar Petrovic (100 back) and MacKenzie LeBlanc (200 fly).
