UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – With two thirds of the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational in the books, Notre Dame’s men’s golf team stands in fifth place out of 18 schools and just 11 strokes back of first place Iowa State – within striking range of another title.

Highlighted by a hole-in-one by sophomore Kevin Conners on 17 in Monday’s second round, the Irish have a 583 (+15). The Cyclones lead the event at 572 (+4), just a stroke ahead of Northwestern 573 (+5). Notre Dame is paired with Louisiana-Monroe and TCU in Tuesday’s third and final round of action.

About the Course

Chambers Bay Golf Course played host to the 2015 U.S. Open, a dramatic finish which saw Jordan Spieth become the youngest U.S. Open winner since Bobby Jones, claiming the title by a single stroke over Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen. The links-style course played as a 7,223-yard par-71 on Monday and a 7,057 par-70 on Tuesday.
