IRISH SEEK NINTH BIG EAST TOURNAMENT TITLE – Notre Dame is one win shy of claiming its ninth BIG EAST Tournament title in women’s soccer, set to face Rutgers on Sunday, Nov. 5, at UConn’s Morrone Stadium (2:00 EST) … Notre Dame joined the BIG EAST in the 1995-96 academic year and has seen three of its teams combine for 27 BIG EAST postseason titles in that span: women’s swimming and diving (10), volleyball (9) and women’s soccer (8) … among the 23 sports currently sponsored by the BIG EAST, there have been only two other teams in the entire league that have totaled eight or more BIG EAST postseason titles since 1995-96: UConn women’s basketball (8) and Pittsburgh men’s swimming and diving.
