Irish Earn Spot in NCAA Championship

SOUTH BEND, Ind. –  The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team was selected to play in the NCAA Championship beginning this Friday. The Fighting Irish were one of nine Atlantic Coast Conference teams to earn a bid into the national tournament, the third time in the past four NCAA Championships. The Irish will head to Columbus, Ohio as The Ohio State University will host Notre Dame, Columbia and Youngstown State in the first round of matchups.

The Irish are making their 29th appearance in the NCAA Championship. This season, the Irish have gone 16-12 and are ranked 38th nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Notre Dame finished the gauntlet that was the ACC schedule with a 5-7 record, defeating Georgia Tech, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Miami and Boston College during the year.
