INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Notre Dame freshman diver Heather Mattingly finished third in the one-meter event at the NCAA Zone C diving meet in Indianapolis Saturday night. Mattingly qualifies for the NCAA swimming and diving championships in the one meter after placing second in the three-meter event Friday night to become the first Notre Dame diver to qualify for the NCAA championships. Irish junior Gina Ketehohn placed 11th with a score of 358.05, while sophomore Jessica Johnstone finished 32nd with 157.40.

Mattingly took third with a score of 398.00, behind Indiana’s Erin Quinn with 413.30 and Cinncinati’s Angie Trostel with 398.05. Indiana’s Sara Reiling was fourth with 396.60 while Minnesota’s T.D. Rowe was fifth with 394.60.

Mattingly will dive in both the one-meter and three-meter events at the NCAA swimming and diving championships, to be held March 18-20, at Georgia. She will join seven Irish swimmers for the largest contingent from Notre Dame ever to compete at the NCAA championships.
