Irish Return Home To Host Syracuse

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — After four straight road matches, Notre Dame (17-7, 10-4 ACC) returns to Purcell Pavilion to take on Syracuse on Sunday, November 17th at 1 p.m. The contest is set to be televised live on ACC Network.

HISTORY VS. SYRACUSE
Sunday marks the 34th meeting between the Irish and Orange with Notre Dame holding a 24-9 advantage in the all-time series. Notre Dame will look to revenge a 3-1 setback to the Orange back on November 1st in Syracuse. Sydney Bent led the Irish with 13 kills in that contest while Madison Cruzado recorded a team-high 18 digs.

DIGGING THE VIBE
Notre Dame leads the conference with an average of 15.48 digs per set. The Irish have earned 70+ digs in six matches so far in 2019, including a 79-dig effort in a five-set victory over Michigan on September 18th. Junior Madison Cruzado earned a career-high 27 digs in a five-set match vs. Louisville on October 16th.

DE-FENSE
The Irish rank third in the ACC with an opponent hitting percentage of .186. They have kept their opponents under .200 in nine of 14 ACC contests, including a .022 mark by Virginia on October 27th.

AMONG THE LEADERS
Entering the weekend, a number of Irish see themselves ranked in the top-10 in various statistical categories in the ACC. Zoe Nunez ranks second with 1,013 total assists and third with an average of 10.55 assists per set. Kristin Baer ranks eighth with 102 total blocks, Madison Cruzado ranks fifth with 370 total digs and Charley Niego ranks fourth with 330 total kills.
