Jan. 14, 2011

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Hours after returning from its two-week winter training trip in Hawaii, the Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team will take on Northwestern and Michigan in dual meet action at 1:00 p.m. (CT) on Saturday at Northwestern’s Norris Aquatic Center.

Notre Dame (2-3) last competed in early December at the U.S. Short Court Nationals, an event that saw the Irish shelf several NCAA B-cut performances.

Michigan, who owns a 7-5 edge in the series history with the Irish, defeated Notre Dame by a 165-133 margin last season.

For the last two seasons, the outcome of the dual-meet rivalry between the Notre Dame and Northwestern has come down to the final race. The Wildcats won last year’s matchup, 153-147, at the Rolfs Aquatic Center.
