ATHENS, Ga. — It was a tough day at the NCAA Championships for the men’s tennis team. In the second rounds of the Singles Championship, senior Greg Andrews suffered a tough loss to Nathan Pasha of Georgia, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3. Later this evening, Andrews paired up with sophomore Alex Lawson for the first round the Doubles Championship, but the duo lost a hard-fought match in a pair of tiebreakers.

Andrews won his first set off Pasha in a tiebreaker, 7-4. But Pasha battled back in the second and third sets to defeat the senior, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.

Andrews and Lawson’s doubles match was also against players from Georgia. The eighth-ranked duo of Hernus Pieters and Ben Wagland defeated the Irish team, 7-6(5), 7-6(0).

Despite these tough but close losses, both Andrews and Lawson end their seasons among the most elite players in the country. The duo ends the season with a doubles record of 18-11.
