On The Fighting Irish

Notre Dame (10-8, 2-6 ACC) will return to home courts this weekend, where the Irish have played just twice in the last nine matches. They have also faced five ranked teams in their last six contests.

Brooke Broda and Allison Miller have played most the season atop the singles and doubles lineups. Broda is 5-8 on court one and 2-2 on two, while Miller owns a 2-2 record on court one and an 8-5 mark on court two. Together, the duo is 6-10 at one doubles.

Zoe Spence and Cameron Corse have filled out the next two spots in the lineup. Spence is 12-5 in singles play during dual matches this year, while Corse is 9-8. Paired together in doubles action, Spence and Corse are 6-7 on court two.

On The Tar Heels

No. 1 North Carolina is 18-2 on the year and 7-1 in ACC play. The lone setbacks have come to seventh-ranked Vanderbilt and sixth-ranked Georgia Tech, both by scores of 6-3. UNC has been ranked atop the ITA team rankings since Feb. 14.

The Tar Heels boast six players among the nation’s top 103 singles players according to ITA rankings. Makenna Jones paces that group at 18th, followed by Alle Sanford (20th), Sara Daavettila (27th), Jessie Aney (47th), Alexa Graham (70th) and Chlose Ouellet-Pizer (103rd). The middle of the lineup has been deadly, as Jones is 8-1 on two, Daavettila is 10-1 on three, Graham is 10-0 on four and Aney is 8-3 on court five.

Aney and Graham make up the nation’s second-ranked doubles paring thanks to a 13-1 record on the dual season, all on court one. Daavettila and Sanford rank 13th nationally thanks to a 13-3 spring record.

North Carolina leads the all-time series with Notre Dame, 12-9.

On The Wolfpack

No. 42 NC State enters the weekend with a 10-11 record and 3-5 mark in ACC play before a trip to Louisville on Friday, April 6.

Anna Rogers has played most the season at court one, where she holds a 10-9 reord. Adriana Reami is 11-6 on court two during the spring. Rogers and Claudia Wiktorin boast a 10-3 record at one doubles, while Reami and Amanad Rebol are 9-4 on court two.

The all-time series between Notre Dame and NC State is even at two matches apiece.
