SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The women’s lacrosse team begins their season this Friday as the 2022 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll was announced on Tuesday, February 8. Notre Dame is slotted fourth in the rankings. The Irish have three players selected to the Preseason All-ACC team in Kasey Choma, Madison Ahern, and Bridget Deehan.
The team received 56 points in balloting among the eight other ACC teams. Boston College took first in the poll with 76 points, followed by North Carolina and Syracuse in second and third.
The Fighting Irish appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the 14th time in 2021. Notre Dame finished with an 11-7 overall record, which included a run to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals.
The 2022 women’s lacrosse season gets underway at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, February 11, as the Irish play Central Michigan in Loftus Sports Center on the Notre Dame campus.
