Irish Place 21 on 2020 CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

NOTRE DAME, Indiana — The CSCAA named 21 Notre Dame swimmers and divers for 2020 Scholar All-America honors this week. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Selections were drawn from 209 colleges and universities.

Four men and eight women were named Scholar All-Americans, and six men and three women earned honorable mention recognition.

Scholar All Americans: Josh Bottelberghe, Jack Montesi, Aaron Schultz, Cason Wilburn, Abbie Dolan, Coleen Gillilan, Erin Isola, Kate McCaham, Carly Quast, Bayley Stewart, Kelly Straub, Annie Wiese

Honorable Mention: Marci Barta, Will Cumberland, Jack Fitzpatrick, Liam Hutchinson, Nick Milikich, Joe Turk, Cailey Grunhard, Erin Sheehan, Lindsay Stone

On June 30, the CSCAA selected men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams for team Scholar All-American honors. The Irish have earned the award for the entirety of head coach Mike Litzinger’s tenure, which spans 10 semesters.

“This honor has become the standard for our program, and I’m proud of our student-athletes for staying committed to the mission even in difficult circumstances,” Litzinger noted. “This propels us into our fall semester, and we’re looking forward to continuing to educate and support our student-athletes.”

The women’s squad posted a 3.66 GPA for the Spring semester and boasted six Dean’s list honorees, while the men accumulated a 3.52 Spring GPA and five Dean’s list members. Graduating senior diver Erin Isola earned the Notre Dame “Top Gun” award, recognizing the graduating senior with the highest GPA among all Irish student-athletes.
