Irish Picked To Top ACC

Notre Dame men predicted to finish first, women second by ACC coaches

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Atlantic Coast Conference released its preseason cross country poll Thursday, with both University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s programs predicted to finish at or near the top of the conference by a vote of the league’s coaches.

The poll placed the Irish men’s team at the top of the conference, as the Irish return all but one starter from last season’s ACC Championship squad. Earlier this week, the Irish men came in at No. 9 in the preseason USTFCCCA Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll.

The Irish women were slated to place second in the conference this season, having also finished second at last year’s conference meet. The Irish rank at No. 11 nationally to start the season.

The Irish return to the course for the first time in 2019 on Friday, September 6, at the Crusader Invitational at Valparaiso University.
