Irish Pair Will Compete At NCAA Doubles Championships

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team’s top doubles grouping will represent the Fighting Irish at the NCAA DI Women’s Tennis Championships at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

Junior Quinn Gleason and Monica Robinson will compete in the NCAA Women’s Doubles Championship May 20-25 following the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 15-19. The pair are one of 22 at-large selection in the 32-team field.

The 26th-ranked Irish tandem are one of five Atlantic Coast Conference duos to receive bids, with Clemson’s Beatrice Gumulya and Jessy Rompies taking the league’s automatic bid.

Gleason and Robinson have compiled a 14-5 dual record this spring and boast a 22-7 overall mark. The pair are 5-3 against nationally ranked opponents and they made the trip this fall to the USTA/ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, also as an at-large selection.
