NOTRE DAME, Ind. ââ’¬” The University of Notre Dame track and field program saw seven runners and one field entrant compete on Friday evening, across two different meets. In Raleigh, North Carolina, the women’s 1500m featured Rachel DaDamio, Alexa Pelletier and Ashlyn Rambo, with the 5,000m holding Kaitlin Frei. Timothy Ball, John Flannery and Brent Kennedy all ran the men’s 1500m. In Atlanta, Georgia, Lena Madison competed in women’s hammer throw at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

DaDamio had the highest finish for the Irish in any event, taking sixth (4:24.85) in the 1500m. Pelletier (4:35.96) finished 40th while Rambo (4:38.37) crossed the line 47th in the overall standings. Frei crossed in 18:21.11 in the 5,000m.

All three Irish men had similar times in the men’s 1500m, with Ball having the fastest mark at 3:56.42. Flannery clocked in at 3:58.65, while Kennedy finished in 4:03.37.

Madison was the lone Irish entrant in Atlanta Friday, and finished 11th in women’s hammer throw with a distance of 47.5m. Both meets resume Saturday morning.
