The Notre Dame men?s tennis team won the doubles point and won five of six singles matches to beat Oklahoma 6-1 on Friday night at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. Casey Smith, Javier Taborga, Matt Daly, Mark Overdevest and Andrew Laflin each posted singles wins to lead the Irish. Notre Dame used wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point to open the match.

Daly rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 over Rick Warren at No. 3 singles for a 2-0 lead. Smith then won 6-2, 6-4 over Charlie Roberson at No. 1 singles to put the Irish ahead 3-0. Laflin then clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-4 over Tobias Kronlein at No. 6 singles. Taborga and Overdevest then won in three sets for a 6-0 lead. Oklahoma?s Julio Martinez rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win over Aaron Talarico for the Sooners? only point.

James Malhame and Ashok Raju clinched the doubles point for the Irish with an 8-5 win over Kronlein and Martinez at No. 3 doubles. Taborga and Talarico teamed to beat Roberson and Warren 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
