IN THE BATTERS BOX – Notre Dame returns to action this weekend at Frank Eck Stadium for a three-game series with BIG EAST rival Cincinnati. First pitch for the series opener on Friday is scheduled for 5:35 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday’s games will begin at 2:05 p.m. and 1:05 p.m., respectively. All three games can be heard locally on WHME 103.1 FM. The entire series will also be streamed live on UND.com.

THIS WEEKEND’S STORY LINES – Notre Dame will look to regain the form that saw the Irish open 16-8 overall and 4-0 in the BIG EAST, including a victory at LSU and series-opening win at league-leading USF. The Irish have dropped five straight games and eight of their last 10. Notre Dame had won eight of its 10 games entering the recent skid.

  • Notre Dame leads the all-time series with Cincinnati 23-15 (.605). The Irish have won three of their last four meetings with the Bearcats, including taking two of three from Cincinnati in its last trip to Frank Eck Stadium in 2010. Notre Dame and the Bearcats did not play in 2011. The Irish own an all-time record of 14-4 (.778) against Cincinnati in South Bend. Notre Dame has split its six meetings with the Bearcats at home since Cincinnati joined the conference.
