TODAY’S GAMES – Notre Dame takes its five-game winning streak into today’s pair of games at the Irish Baseball Classic, as San Antonio and junior RHP Jeff Manship will face Southern Illinois in the 1:30 game (CST) while freshman RHP David Phelps will pitch versus Iowa in the 5:30 game … the Irish are batting .348 on the trip, scoring 38 runs in the five games with 15 doubles, two home runs and a +10 plate-discipline ratio (18 BB + 15 HBP – 23 Ks) … this marks the first time in the 12-year Paul Mainieri era that the Irish have started 4-0 or better on their Spring Break trip (5-0) … the ’96, ’00, ’01 and ’03 teams all opened the break with a 3-0 mark.
